About 20 years ago I saw a photo of some llamas in a magazine that came free in my mail and the rest is history. There were only a few people in Canada raising llamas and the boom was starting in the States. The herd started with 2 females purchased down the road and over the hill and then a nice group from Meadow Wood Farms started the breeding program. The 20 years have been rewarding one as all years with llamas, "the magical creature" the"speechless brothers" are. It is now time to let some of this magic and brotherhood move onto other pastures. It has been a year long process to decide to make life a little easier and try a simpler path! Check out all the sales pages, the opportunities aren't gold, they're platinum.!
The years have gone quickly with many llamas coming and going, always maintaining a broad selection of top bloodlines and fiber types. I have been involved in all aspects of the llama industry from forming our local club to hosting shows and planning national conferences and chairing the national marketing committee.
The birth of each new baby is still a thrill fraught with expectations and excitement. The prospect of starting new herd sires is always fun as the “right” girls are planned for the “right” new baby to be produced. There are about 50 llamas, 1 German Shepherd Dog, Brix, and three adorable Australian labrdoodles,Kelly, Mick and Beatrix ( hopefully some puppies!) and 12 wonderful feline farm hands that make up the herd at Wilde Country Rancho.
